Em colaboração com a Associação de Melhoramentos do Monte Penedo, Ribeira de Boas Eiras e Espinheiro, foi criado um Espaço de Memória com o apoio e suporte da comunidade.
Este encontra-se aberto para visitas e é um exemplo das boas práticas comunitárias em termos de gestão de recursos culturais (https://www.facebook.com/A.M.M.P.R.B.E.E/).
O desafio deste projeto é estimular os mais velhos para que voltem a ter uma função social, a de fazer parte integral da sociedade que um dia ajudaram a construir, lembrando e partilhando essas lembranças, adquirindo novas funções e atividades que lhes permitam preencher os tempos vazios através da representação em forma institucional daquilo que é o seu grande tesouro: a sua cultura repleta de memórias.
Os espaços de memória podem, neste quadro, constituir-se como locais de transmissão e também de transformação desses saberes e experiências, protegendo e salvaguardando o património material e imaterial das pequenas comunidades.
